Our extremely wide ranging menu varies from the traditional Lancashire Hot Pot through to a range of seafood not usually seen so far from the coast, offering such delicacies as oysters, mussels, scallops, lobster and monkfish according to season and prepared in interesting ways. We also have a small function suite, suitable for all types of parties, and we hold Christmas Dinner Parties throughout December.
A single bar and sectioned rooms house an array of solid oak tables, wing-back settees, window seats, a large original stone fireplace, and a large blackboard listing the interesting range of daily dishes available. Typical choices may include oysters, pan-fried monkfish, sea bream with caper sauce, venison, bacon and cranberry casserole, and home-made cream of mushroom soup.
A long menu of traditional pub favourites includes grills, chicken and mushroom pie, home-made ham and vegetable broth and toasted baguettes. We always have a wide selection of seafood on our specials board, particularly at weekends. If you would like to have lobster at any time just tell us by Thursday before 7pm as most of our fresh fish is delivered on Fridays.
Lunch is served from 12pm until 2pm. Dinner is from 7pm to 10pm.
